Purpose: to mobilise upper and middle back
First Move: soft floating arms. Lift and float your arms slowly and softly. See what it feels like to move them gently in the space
around your body. Exploring soft movement to the sides, towards the cieling, in front of you, behind you, towards the floor.
Allow your whole arm to move: the shoulder, the elbow, the wrist, the fingers.
Now start to lean into your arm movements so you allow your chest, spine and whole upper body to move with it.
What happens if you look at your hands and arms as you softly move them?
How seamless and gentle can you make your dance?
Relax into it and add your breath to your dance. You can’t get it wrong. Make it feel good in your entire body. In fact, can you make
your whole body dance with your floating arms?
Fluid. Gentle. Soft.
Even let your face be soft.
How can you allow your spine to move with it?
It’s also possible to bend your knees softly and use your levels in your dance.
Give yourself permission to express it and dance it in your own unique way – you can’t get it wrong.
Second Move: lean-lean-walk 4. Lean your upper to the sides or front and back, then walk four. Lean-lean-1,2,3,4. Stretch your spine
as you lean and keep the softness in your dance as you walk.
Try leaning in different directions every single time. Dancing it with lightness and elegance. Listen to the music and let it inspire how
you move.
As you travel explore the space, try soft turns and walking in different directions.
Airy. Soft. Flowy.
Can your head move with it?
What does it feel like if your whole body moves as you lean?
How does your chest move? How does your shoulders move?
Can you make it feel good in your body as you dance?
