Coaching Notes:

Pre-Teach: Yes, the Charleston
Focus: External
Purpose: To connect and dance with this distinct style.

Pre-Teach: You need to pre-teach the Charleston. Make sure they practice with you. Step forward kick, step back and kick. Do it a couple times and see that they have it.

First move: Sassy Jazzy Walk. Start with a few little poses then when the beat kicks in. pick your feet up and give me a sassy peppy walk around the room.
The key is to pick up your feet. Show me sass, personality and confidence. Use your arms and hands in a jazzy way. Give me style and pizzazz.
Show me how cute and sassy you can be. But do it with confidence.
Second move: Charleston. Step front kick and back kick. You can kick as high as you want. Remember what leg you are on so the next time you start on the other foot. Use your arms to help you.
Put some energy into it. but make it swanky. Lot’s of style and personality. Jazz it up. You can change your direction. But get your whole body involved in the Charleston.
