Coaching Notes:

Pre-Teach: No
Focus: both internal and external
Purpose: To mobilize hips, shoulders, and wrists

First move: Start to softly roll your wrists. Soft and gentle. Now start to move your arms too so you are decorating the space around you with your hands and wrists.
There’s above you, below you, to the sides – all around you.
Can you move your fingers too?
Allow the oriental feel of the music to inspire how you dance.
Now allow your arms to pause for a moment and start to slowly move your tailbone.
You can draw circles, move it back and forth or side to side. Keep it soft, slow and expressive.
Simply let your hips dance.
How can you move you hips so it feels good?
Now combine both hips and wrists. There’s no right or wrong. Just listen to the music and let it inspire your dance.
Wrists and hips are dancing. Can you invite your whole body to move with it?
Can your spine and chest dance?
Allow yourself to be soft and sensual in your expression.
Remember you can’t get it wrong. Make it feel good and dance it in your own unique way.
Second move: Put this rhythm in your feet: slow-slow-quick-quick-slow. Travel the room and explore using different directions: sideways, backwards, turning.
Add your arms with passion and drama. Give yourself permission to take up the space around you.
Can you add your head too? You can look at your hands once in a while to get your head moving naturally with it.
Have you tried turning?
Allow yourself to be passionate in your dance. This your dance – dance it so it feels good and you get to express it in your own unique way.
Can your hips move too?
Is there somewhere in the room you haven’t been yet?
Show me how you can make your arms dance too.
Your way is the right way – dance and express!
