Focus: External
Purpose: To build lower body strength and mobilize hips and lower spine
Pre-teach: the jump and groove. Try this with me. You’ll jump and dance 2, 3, 4. Let’s try it. If the jump doesn’t feel good, they can step and groove.
First move: Dance your butt. This is only at the beginning of the song. Bend your knees a little bit and stick your butt out.
Second move: Jump and groove. How can you dance it? Make your butt dance. Make your whole body dance. Let yourself be a bit naughty with it. You might turn as you jump.
Remember you can step it if you want. Can you turn while you jump? You can play with levels. Lots of booty. Let your whole body dance it!
Third move: Walk2- dance2. Explore the space. Play with levels. Using directions. Try different body parts when you dance. Show me how you can dance this with attitude. Confidence.
Tell a story with your hands. You can’t get it wrong. Get your hip-hop on. Can you add shoulders? Chest? Can you show attitude to a fellow GROOVER when you meet them on the floor?
Fourth move: OTS heel bounce. Once you have it, dance it. Add arms, hands, facial expression. Toss your hair if you want. Dance your bounce. Give it some personality.
