beast / warrior poses / air guitar
Powerful, strong, warrior-like
Fit Facilitator
Pre-Teach: Yes – talk about the beast position and the play in it
Focus: external
Fitness Elements/Purpose: CR, RT, Power, Muscle Strength, Muscle Endurance, Cardio, Coordination,
First move: beast – Get them into the position as the music begins and have them move at a slow, powerful pace. Just one thing at a time, a leg or an arm.
Encourage travel in all directions but you will not move very far. The intensity comes from keeping the knees 1 inch from the ground.
This builds nearly every muscle group in your body!!
Second move: warrior poses – stay low but standing as you travel in deep, powerful warrior-like poses. Show intensity on your face, use arms and legs in strong positions.
Gently traveling toward someone else or around your space.
Third Move: air guitar – this happens twice. Really let your rock and roll star come out on this. Using your hair, head, legs and whole body to “play” this music!
On the second one, for the finale’, I sometimes have them fall onto the floor in exhaustion!!
Transitions:
0:00 beast
0:30 warrior poses
0:55 beast
1:20 warrior poses
1:44 air guitar – really get into this….low lunge/squat positions
2:09 warrior
2:35 air guitar or drums finale
