Coaching Notes:

Pre-Teach: Yes, the fairy tale Focus: External Purpose: Acting out a magical fairytale

Give a short intro before starting the music, unless you are able to explain the following, during the first 22 seconds of intro in the song: “In this song you will pretend to be witches or sorcerers. We are about to make a magic potion that will help us defeat the evil Dragon! You have a huge pot in front of you, and many different magical ingredients. Now let’s make that magic potion! Ready?”

First move: Adding ingredients into a pot. Suggest different ways of adding stuff; poor, sprinkle or throw ingredients in Add anything from frog legs to bugs and snake poison. Even ask them to smell it! Now grab a scoop and poor the magical potion into a jar. Put it in your pocket. Let’s bring it with us to defeat the evil Dragon.”

Second move: Cast a spell & walk 2. They can cast their spells in all different directions, because they really don’t know who to trust and where the Dragon might be hiding. Even suggest having a magic wand! You also might want to ask them to cast spells at each other!

Third move: Travel through enchanted forest. Tell them “Now we have arrived at an enchanted forest, and we are going to travel through it to reach the Castle where the Dragon is hiding!” This part is Creative Functional Training, so no need to think about rhythm. Just ask them to find different ways to sneak through the forest, climbing over trees, under branches, between narrow pathways and through bushes. Invite them to get down on the floor crawling too!

Fourth move: Throw magic potion at the dragon. You will hear a change in the rhythm, and whenever you want now, you can introduce the final move. Now we have arrived at the Castle! And we need to get passed the guards! Let us throw our magic potion at them! Grab-grab-throw! There are guards everywhere, we need to defeat all of them!” When you feel that it’s time to move on, you tell them you can spot the dragon! “Now we can see the dragon! Throw potion at him! Grab-grab-throw! Come on let’s take down the evil Dragon! Let’s gather closer, and work together! Use all your powers! Together we can do it! He’s getting weaker by the second! Now he vanishes into smoke! We made it!” -and then you celebrate your victory and fade out the music sometime around or after 4 minutes!
