Coaching Notes:

Pre-Teach: Yes Focus: External Purpose: Exploring graceful ballet moves

First move: Sway. Start with connecting them to the sway on the spot. Only introduce the waltz if you have older kids, perhaps from age10-12. If they are younger, stick to the swaying from side to side. Invite them to explore moving their arms with grace and elegance, pretending to be a PRIMA Ballerina! Evolve this move as the song progresses. After the first pose, have them explore the space with the sway. After next pose, you might let them find a partner and gently sway with them. You may invite them to make their arm movements bigger and more powerful when the music gets more dramatic towards the end of the song.

Second move: Ballet-Poses. The music has a small break, have them freeze in a ballet like pose, and then return to the sway.

Third move: Plié. This is a slow bending and stretching the knee, while the arms float gracefully.

Fourth move: Leap and pose. Different directions. Different poses every time.

Fifth move: Tip-toe.
