Purpose: To warm up or cool down the body by lubricating the joints slowly
This is a wonderful way to start your groove class on the floor.
Only do it with people who have grooved with you for a while and are used to these things. Not really meant for every group
Start your participants on the ground, in a very comfortable position, their version of a child’s pose.
Let them know that during this song, they will simply do movements that they want and need to do to prepare their body for bigger movement.
Connect them to long slow breath first.
Keep saying things to inspire them to stretch and warm-up their body on the floor.
Make those movements fluid, flowing from one movement into another, a warm up dance on the floor.
It’s up to you if you want to give them a little bit of structure by suggesting some poses to them.
If you are coaching and cueing it, let them know to add lots of breath.
