Pre-Teach: Yes, the butt-dance-in-out
Focus: External
Purpose: To explore a bit more challenging rhythm combos
***Explicit Language***
Pre-teach: “Try this with me: open your legs a bit so you can move your hips. Then move your butt for 1-2-3 and then jump in and out again.
Rhythm goes 123-in-out. Just dance your butt for three, then jump in-out.”
Keep doing it until people get it, and if you see someone struggling, just say to the crowd that if the in-out doesn’t happen, just dance the butt – it’s really not a big deal.
First move: butt-side-to-side. Tell people to stand hip width apart and move their butt side to side. Allow yourself to be a little naughty as you dance your butt!
Second move: Snap. First connect everyone to the snap, and invite them to snap a new place every time. Invite levels too, and invite them to travel it.
Add your style and personality, and dance it with coolness and confidence – like your in da club gettin’ ya swag on!
Third move: Butt-dance-in-out. This is the move you pre-taught. It’s a good thing to go in the middle of the room so people can see you. This move is a bit more difficult than the usual groove move, so some people will need to look at how you do it.
Cue on the beat as well so people hear the rhythm and give them the style words gritty, dirty and attitude, for dancing this move.
Second time around you can coach more on getting the upper body to dance as well, spinning as they do the in-out and even have them dance together with the other groovers.
