Pre-Teach: Yes – if you want to make it a connection song, show them how to touch
Focus: External
Purpose: To flow with the waltz rhythm and to sing along and connect
Pre-Teach: If you want them to connect, just take a moment before the song starts to demonstrate to them how soft and relaxed your hands are and how gently you take someone and do a little dance.
If you don’t want to make it a connection song, then there is no need to pre-teach.
First Move: OTS Sway. Start by just swaying on the spot, listening and connecting to the music. Softly and gently, allowing yourself to relax and flow.
Even allowing your head to get involved in your sway.
Second Move: Waltz. Now connect to the down up up, and take it all around the room – soft, relaxed and gentle. Let your arms get involved and use them to express the music.
This music has a very youthful feel. Smile and connect with people as you pass them. If you’re using interaction, then have them gently take someone’s hand and do a little waltz dance with them.
Explore the whole room and all your directions. You can even turn while you waltz. Just be so gentle with yourself and those around you.
*After you teach these moves, invite them to do what they want. Waltz when they want and sway when they want.
Transitions:
0:00 OTS sway
0:18 Waltz
After this, just let them know they can go back and forth whenever they want between the waltz and sway.
