Pre-Teach: the combo
Focus: External
Purpose: To explore short combos/choreo
Pre-Teach: In this song we are gonna dance a little combo – try it with me: take your arms and swim-swim-swim-swim, grab your nose and drop down – then paddle up for 1-2-3-4. One more time and add a liitle sass and swank to your dance – you got this!
First move: Step-tap-back. Alright, start to travel this move: step-tap-back, step-tap-back. This song is cute, swanky and sassy.
How can you travel this move?
Can you go sideways?
Can you go backwards?
Now add your arms and hands to your dance by doing a little flapping movement in your hands and wrists.
Can you add your shoulders too?
You can be a little sexy with it – maybe a look over the shoulder, a little wink or some other flirty movement. Play with it and dance it your way.
You can’t get it wrong, I promise! Just give yourself permission to dance with confidence, sass and your own style and personality.
Listen to the song and let it inspire how you dance it.
Can you get your head in it?
How could you add your face?
What would it feel like to get your whole body dancing?
Second move Swim-4-drop-down-paddle-up-4. Stay on the spot for the combo: swim-swim-swim-swim-grab your nose and dive down-and paddle up-2-3-4. Yes, do it again! Dance it in your own beautiful cute way!
Add your head and spine to your dance.
Can you get your whole body dancing?
How can you add a little cuteness and sexiness to your dance? Just play with it and have fun – Your way is the right way!
You can change directions every time.
You can dance it with the person next to you.
Can you make your butt wiggle with it?
Have you tried adding your shoulders?
This also works great with fingerlights: place fingerlights on the palmside of the hand facing out.
Transitions:
There are no transitions to follow in this song, you decide when you want your Groovers to transition between the two moves.
