Adult Advanced Facilitator 1
Pre-Teach: No
Focus: internal
Purpose: To explore the meditative state of dancing one rhythm only.
First move: Slow-quick-quick. Put this rhythm in your feet: slow-quick-quick. Relax your body and dance it with softness.
Start to explore the room as you dance the SQQ.
You can use the whole dance floor, dancing sideways, backwards, turning. Try all the different directions exploring all the possibilities.
On the slow see what it feels like to add your arms – arm-quick-quick. You can express it with drama. Or softness. Listen to the music and let it inspire how you dance it. Let it move you.
Infuse it with lots of breath.
Can you dance it with your whole body? Give yourself permission to explore dramatic expressions on the slow – intense and passionate arm movements. You can’t get it wrong, I promise! Don’t censor yourself or try to copy anyone – express it your way! Your way IS the right way.
You can also stay on the spot and explore the rhythm in different parts of your body. Your hips, chest, spine, shoulders, knees.
Simply dance it on the spot – SQQ – soften your body and let it move fluidly from one move to the next.
You can put the rhythm anywhere in your body – is there a body part you haven’t yet added to your dance?
You decide when you want to travel and when you want to dance the SQQ on the spot.
Have you tried adding your hands? How can you make them dance? Let your wrists and fingers dance and express.
Give yourself permission to dive into the meditative state where you repeat this rhythm in your own way – over and over again.
Play with the elegance of the song in your dance – allowing your movements to be delicate and graceful.
Transitions:
No transitions, only one hythm.
