Purpose: To warm up the body and lubricate hips and lower spine
First move: SQQ. Put this rhythm in your feet: slow-quick-quick, slow-quick-quick, or drag-walk-walk. Keep this rhythm in your feet and start to dance it through the room. This song is smooth, sensual, flirty and louring – how can you invite that into to your dance?
Let the latin feel in the music inspire how you dance it.
Can you turn as you dance your SQQ?
Can you dance it sideways?
What about turning it?
Can you dance it backwards? You don’t know unless you try.
On the slow start to add your arms: ‘arms-quick-quick’ – express it with passion and a bit of drama.
Allow your hips to dance. Allow your shoulders to dance. Even your face can be involved. Don’t forget that your way is the right way – I want to see YOUR personality and expression. I want to see YOUR dance. You can’t get it wrong!
