Coaching Notes:

Pre-Teach: No
Focus: Internal
Purpose: To warm up the body through slow lubricating movements of the joints.

Before you put the music on, get them on the spot, feet planted and taking a few breaths shifting the focus inward. They can close
their eyes or gently bring a soft gaze to the ground.

Key facilitation points:

We’re going to stay on the spot warming up our bodies nice and slow by starting to take deep breaths.
Begin by using your arms in a soft, elegant dramatic way to take your deep breaths. Dance your movement the way the music
inspires you to.
Now begin to draw soft and easy circles with different body parts to lubricate the joints, preparing for bigger movement.
You can roll your shoulders, your head, your hips. Explore your body gently.
Keep your arms dancing elegantly with your body.
You can even draw wider circles allowing the arms to reach for the sky.
Change the direction of your movement.
Can you move and mobilize your spine?
Continue adding more body parts such as hips, knees and ankles.
Listen to your body and do it in a way that feels good.
Try exploring different levels (high, middle and low).
Add lots of breath and relax your movement.
Make it feel good in your body and let yourself dance it.
Let the music inspire how you move, remember you can’t get it wrong!
Your way of moving is the right way.
