Coaching Notes:

Pre-Teach: The Noodle-dance
Focus: External
Purpose: To animate fun and different movements in the joints and increase heart rate

Pre-Teach: Try the noodle-dance with me: Loosen up your body as much as possible and start to wiggle your whole body! Your arms, your head, your hips, your shoulders, your tongue, your knees, your ankles, your spine, your wrists! How floppy and and loose can you be? Allow yourself to be silly and playful and just DANCE it in your own way.

First move: Noodle-dance-4-walk-4. Noodle dance for four and now walk for four. Soften your body and make your dance as floppy as possible! Can you noodle your arms? Can you noodle your head and spine? Is it possible to noodle your knees? Maybe you can explore your levels as you do the noodle dance? Give yourself permission to look silly and ridiculous – have fun with it! Every time you walk you can play with your directions – backwards, turning, sideways. And don’t forget to dance as you walk! Have you tried doing the noodle dance with the person next to you?

Second move: Noodle dance OTS. Now stay on the spot and show me your noodle dance! How can you make your body noodle? How loose and floppy can you be? Have you tried lifting one leg up as you do your noodle dance? Or what about using your levels? The sillier, the better! No one cares what you look like – all it’s about is having fun and exploring the dance in your body! What does noodle shoulders look like? Or noodle tongue? Or maybe noodle spine? Show me your unique noodle dance!

Third move: Walk. Now dance walk to the beat – 1,2-1,2. The style is swingy and peppy and carefree. So put some pep in your step and start to travel the room. Let your arms move too – even your shoulders – peppy and happy. Have you tried walking sideways yet? You can also walk backwards. And maybe try turning it once in a while. Can you get your head dancing as well? Can you get your hands dancing? Little flicks around the body as you dance walk. Remember that no one can do it like you – your way is the right way! Listen to the music and let it inspire how you dance it. I promise you, you can only get it right! How can you get your hips moving as you walk? What happens if you add your face to your dance? What would that feel like?
