Purpose: To practice the ability to focus the attention inward. To relax, integrate and begin the restoration process by activating the parasympathetic nervous system.

Sample Stillness and Breath Coaching:

Find a comfortable position on the floor, become absolutely still, and let the whole body relax and soften so all you notice is the movement of your breath.
We’re going to spend the next few minutes enjoying stillness and bringing our attention to the breath.
Relax and soften your shoulders, your jaw and the space between your eyebrows, allow the whole body to relax into the ground.
Without changing the breath, bring your awareness to it and just observe the sensations you feel as you softly breathe in and out of your nose or mouth, whatever is most comfortable for you.
I’ll bring you back in a few minutes, so for now just relax and enjoy.
Then just stop talking and allow your participants a few minutes to themselves to integrate what they just experienced and to begin the integration and healing process.
