Coaching Notes:

Pre-Teach: No
Focus: External
Purpose: To mobilize hips and lower spine

First move: Twist. Bend your knees a bit, feet apart and start to dance a slow, yummy swanky twist. It’s cool, loose, and bit flirty. Can you add your upper body in the twist? You shoulders? Your head? You can also explore your levels – play with going lower as you twist and really get your hips moving! You can also play with a swanky, cool toe twist – like you’re putting out a cigarette with your big toe. Listen to the song – how does this song make you wanna twist? Express it in your own unique way. Can you get that 60’s feel in your dance? Maybe by letting your shoulders dance and your head and face be involved as well? Remember, you can only get it right – dance your twist and make it feel good!

Second move: 123-kick. Now step: 123 and kick it. 123-kick. Keep the same style in your dance – swanky, cool, loose, a bit flirty – and start to explore the room as you dance it. Can you walk sideways? Can you kick somewhere new every time? Start to add your upper body – maybe little flicks with your hands, a little shoulder action or maybe looking over your shoulder once in a while? Have you tried turning it yet? Groove it your way!

Transitions:
No transitions – you decide when you want your participants to change between the moves.
