Pre-Teach: No
Focus: external
Purpose: To explore sharp and staccato movement
First Move: Robotic March. Start by connecting to a simple march, once you see they are connected invite them to start adding robotic type movements.
Sharp, staccato, angular. Can you add funk to your robotic march? That means allowing your body to DANCE to the rhythm adding your own style and personality. Show me how YOU dance the robotic march – don’t try to copy anyone – explore your own dance. I wanne see you playing with moving all different body parts in a funky robotic way: your head, your shoulders, your elbows, your wrists and hands. And what about your chest? your hips? You can ONLY get this right – let your robot dance!
Second move: Slow motion robot. Show me how you can move your body in sharp, staccato movements – but slow. Explore your levels. And start to see what your knees can do, your legs moving in different shapes. How many body parts can you move at the same time? Can you create weird shapes with your body? It’s also possible to add your eyes and face – you can play with a blank robotic stare, or let your eyes look in a new direction every time you move. What does your slow motion robot dance look like? Have you tried moving your chest? your arms? your neck? What about your hips and booty? Sharp, angular and staccato movements in your own way.
Third Move: Arms. Start to move your arms like windshield wipers in front of you. Sharp movements to the beat. Now listen to the song and pick up the speed as the music builds. Faster! Faster! How fast can you go?!
