Adult Facilitator
Pre-Teach: No
Focus: External
Purpose: To warm up or cool down the body, feel soft like the wind, and connect to the power of the voice
First move: Soft, airy arms OTS. Tell people to lift their arms and start moving them slowly and softly to create airy arms.
Have them explore the space around their body, delicately and elegantly and with lots of breath. Follow the music, let it inspire how
you move. You can’t get it wrong, dance it your way.
Second move: Slow-quick-quick or Quick-quick-slow. **(The video tutorial demonstrates SQQ, however doing QQS works perfectly
too. Your focus and purpose is to inspire them to “be like the wind” with the lyrics of the music, light airy arms with some
drama). Connect them to the rhythm you choose feels best for you. Keep it soft, relaxed and passionate. Take this rhythm
around the room. Express it with your arms, show me the drama. Ask them to tell a story with their arms and interpret the
music as they hear it. The Slow is like a soft arm accent.
Allow the whole body to be creative, adding turns, using levels, creating different arms every time. Get them to sing along and make
sure to be the role model and sing it – then they’ll start. Really accent the slow with dramatic arms. Using your arms “she’s like
the wind”, open and expressive.
Third move: Pause. Pause on the spot, deepen your breath, stay soft and wait for the rhythm to come back in.
