Coaching Notes:

Pre-Teach: Only the jump & ride
Focus: External
Purpose: To increase heart rate

Pre-teach: Before we start the music I want you try this move with me: it’s called jump and ride. Simply jump on the spot, or stomp if jumping doesn’t work for you, and then groove as you ride it. Allow yourself to be a bit naughty with it – you decide if you’re riding a horse… or a cowboy!

First Move: 1-2-123. Connect your participants to the rhythm, keep counting them until they get it.
Tell them the style is country, cowboy/girl and confident. Invite a ‘yeehaaa’, thumbs in the belt, lifting your cowboy hat to greet one another – or any other fun country western detail you might wanna add. Have them travel the room cowboy style as they explore directions and levels. Throw in a groove truth or two and tell them they look awesome!

Second Move: Alternating heels. Count on the beat and simply say ‘heel, heel, heel, heel’ until everyone is successful. Use the style words and invite them to explore the room or stay OTS, they choose. In this move you can also invite lifting the hat, holding their suspenders or have the thumbs in the belt – just have fun with it!

Third Move: Jump & ride. Simply yell it out a few counts before, and then invite them to get a naughty groove on as they ride!
Play with levels and have them use their whole body. No one cares what you look like – just have fun with it!
