Coaching Notes:

Pre-Teach: no
Focus: external
Purpose: To increase heart rate and sing along

First move: Start with a simple rock step, step front and back. Nice and easy. Slow.
Pick up the pace a little. Add your arms to that rock step. If you feel comfortable, switch your legs. Sing along with the lyrics
Let them know this move is going to get a lot faster later on.

Second move: Step touch. Move it around the space. Add a clap or snap if it feels good, and express it with soul.

Third move: Open & Close. When the beat kicks in and picks up, start my having them soften their knees and lift their heels from the floor (onto their toes) and shake it out.
Relaxing their joints, muscles and letting it all be loose then cue them to open their legs wide and close, feet in.
You can then invite them to get a bit more creative with it by adding arms, turning it etc.

You’ll repeat all 3 moves in sequence at a faster pace. Be sure to cue for style soul, rock and roll, and remind them to take big breaths when needed.
Check out the video, great cardio, great fun and great sing along!
