Pre-Teach: The 12-123 Groove out
Focus: External
Purpose: To increase heart rate and explore the feel of freestyle groove

Pre-teach: 12-123 Groove out. Twice in the song you’ll get to groove out the rhythm 12-123. So try this with me: connect to a 12-
123 in your feet. The vibe is housy and club like. Now add your whole body to the rhythm especially lots of arms. Add some
bounce or even jumps to your steps. Allow yourself be a bit crazy and wild. 
Explore putting the rhythm in different parts of
your body and give yourself permission to lose your mind and dance your heart out!

First move: Walk. Listen to the beat and put it in you feet: 12-12. Start to travel the room as you add dramatic flamenco and latin
style arms to your walk. You want to frame your body with your arms with confidence and pride!
Chest up. Express with your arms as you walk. Strong and confident.
You can move backwards, sideways and explore turning as you walk.
Have you tried moving your arms to the sides? Above you? Maybe behind you?
Like a bullfighter or flamenco dancer. Lots of poise, confidence and you can even play with a little bit of arrogance in your
expression.
How can you dance it? You can’t get it wrong – this is your dance, your expression – YOUR groove! Don’t hold back!
Can you get your whole body into it?
Show me how you can move your arms in different ways as you dance.
Have you tried turining yet?
Show me chest high and strong and intense arm movements.

Second move: Build up – fast feet
. Stay on the spot and walk, now pick up the pace! Fast feet! Come on, build up the energy,
faster! Yell if you feel like it! Let’s go!

Third move: 12-123 Groove out. Now dance to the beat: 12-123. Or 12-arm and arm! Listen to the music and give yourself
permission to dance your heart out! This is housy and club-like so put that in your dance in your own unique way.

You can stay on the spot or travel with the 12-123.
No one cares what it looks like – I wanna see you let lose, get wild and crazy and DANCE! Your way is the right way!

Get your club on and allow yourself to play with all the possibilities of dancing to the music.

Fourth move: slow walk. Back to your walk, but slow it down. Add you arms again – flamenco like, strong and confident. Give
yourself permission to dance it with a bit of drama, a bit of arrogance and intensity.
