Pre-Teach: Yes – talk about the floor section and give options
Focus: internal/external
Fitness Elements/Purpose: CR (creativity), RT (reaction time), ROM, Coordination, Muscle Strength, Power, Speed, Muscle Endurance, Cardiovascular
First move: walk 4 weird 4 – powerful walk then OTS something weird that the music inspires you to do.
Be sure to use legs, arms, and whole body. Relax and let the body flow, different levels, directions and body parts!
Let there be a lot of PLAY in it!
Second move: walk up2 down2 – This move is very linear, less creativity here and more ROM. Power in the legs, using the tippy toes to get up higher, a bit mechanical.
The purpose here is strength and ROM.
Third move: melt and rise – A creative melt to the ground, following the music and then coming up. Be sure they do this differently each time.
Show them how they can use a lot of strength and control here if they want and just use it as a release to stretch and come up for the next round.
*This song goes 3 rounds.
