Purpose: To practice going down and up. Warm up the body
First move is an on the spot gather-lift-release (big arm opening) and travel to repeat on own timing.
Ask them to slowly and mindfully bend or melt towards the floor, use their arms as if to gather something lifting up towards the sky and releasing their arms any way they want.
Suggest trying to gather and release in different ways. Invite them to continue on their own time following their own impulse.
1:02 The beat kicks in. You have the choice of ignoring the beat in the music and let them continue walking in their own timing OR you can invite them to connect with the soft beat of 1-2, 1-2 when they are traveling to their next spot.
If you chose to connect them to the beat, still reminding them to stop whenever they want to repeat the gather-lift-release.
Remind them to follow their own impulse, not to copy anyone else. Everyone will stop and walk at different times.
