Purpose: To build lower body strength and increase heart rate
This song will take a bit of practice before doing it in class. Listen to it often so you know the transitions as well as the lyrics.
Music Intro: I have the class go to the wall and strike a pose with attitude. As the lyrics begin, simply act out what is being said. Use levels, the wall, your body in all ways!
Then there are 4 strong beats where you will WALK onto the DANCEfloor and begin the double down! Practice this beforehand so you know how to cue it.
First move: double down – Use lots of arms on this move, lots of attitude! Look at each other while doing this.
I always talk about saying “NO” to that telemarketer or someone who won’t leave you alone….be assertive in your moves!
Second move: combo walk 4 and 123-123 (shuffle) – Attitude, confident strut for 4 counts, then dance the 123-123.
Move smoothly throughout the space and around each other, giving a bit of attitude.
Third move: bounce on the spot – Act out these lyrics with your hand gestures and facial expressions.
Swing your hips, lick your lips, etc.
