Kids Facilitator
Pre-Teach: Yes, the crazy arms + run 4, also introduce the breakdancing bit
Focus: External
Purpose: Get heart rate up and explore breakdance
Briefly pre-teach the crazy arms + run 4. Have them join you in testing it out. Be all loosey goosey!
Then ask if any of the kids know beakdance and if some of them have experience with it, let them know that in this song there will be an opportunity to explore breakdance moves and tricks on the floor if they want to.
Tell them you’ll let them know when.
First move: Pump arms up. It is a good idea to connect them to the beat with a clap first, then keep the rhythm but pump your arms up instead.
Show me how you celebrate with your arms!
Second move: Crazy arms + Run 4. This is what we practiced: Show me your crazy arms, now run 1-2-3-4. Repeat.
How loose and goofy can you be with your arms?
Third move: Breakdance (switching feet position). If you know some breakdance tricks, go for it now! If some of the kids are not familiar with it, you simply switch your feet’s position to the beat!
They can cross! Can they scissor? Is it possible to turn? (The second time this move comes, you go for longer and you have more time to explore breakdancing on the floor, if the kids are into it)
