Pre-Teach: Yes Focus: External Purpose: Create a fun, encouraging and cheering environment to encourage each other fostering a sense of empowerment.

This track is done in a circle for safety. Set up the class and express how important that it is everyone stays in the circle until it is time for their solo. This track is about practicing martial arts moves in a circle and then taking solos going around the room. It is up to you as the facilitator when to switch between moves that you have them do, make sure that they get to practice a lot of moves so everyone is comfortable and excited to get their chance to have the solo in the circle. ALSO- make sure you stress that any kind of hitting/kicking etc. is never to be done for real in class (or out) that this is a fun way to pretend with friends. You can also play with over-the-top exaggerated reactions to the moves.

First move: Punches.Let me see a punch. Punch. Punch. Now show me your Martial Arts punches. Where all can you punch? Can you try one arm? The other arm? Can you give me hooks and upper cuts? Have you tried faster?

Second move: Balance. Let me see you balance. And when you want to switch to the other foot, go for it.

Third move: Kicks. Kick. Kick. Try a knee. Your best martial arts style.

Now mix up your punches and kicks. Who wants to show off your solo moves to the group? Let’s hear you cheering on (name). Going around the circle each person enters and takes solo, also fun to have people on the outside of circle “over-react” to punches or kicks that are done in their direction. Who’s next?! Keep cheering them on.

Transitions: 0:00 Start with bows to people around the circle (on the Gong) 0:18 Punches 0:55 Kicks and Balances (when you switch is up to you) 1:45 Music changes and you can set up solos (again subjective) 4:30 music winding down take a breath and bows to each other
