Pre-Teach: Yes
Focus: External
Purpose: To create a fun encouraging environment that fosters creativity and gives each person a chance (or several chances) to show off their best monster moves and dance!
Practice getting into 2 lines so you are ready to go! A good trick is to designate 2 “line leaders” and have the rest of the group get into one of those 2 lines.
FIRST MOVE: The first thing you have to do is get the group set up into 2 lines so you create the “monster hallway” for people to dance down. Make sure you are super clear on how it works!
SECOND MOVE: Now that you are set up you get to direct the fun! Make sure that the class members on the sides are cheering, clapping and still dancing as they wait for their time to take a solo! Each person gets to do their best monster dance down the middle and then rejoin the line. Sometimes (for me almost every time) people want to go more than one round so you may need to start the music over. Make sure that everyone gets to go at least one time alone
(If they are shy try going with them to encourage but don’t force them). Then you can have 2 at a time go. Encourage crazy amazing fun creativity and individuality and praise each person as they are coming down the aisle and give them a high 5 if you can
