Coaching Notes:

Pre-Teach: Yes the walk and waltz combo
Focus: Internal on the TP, external on the OTS
Purpose: To have people connecting on the dancefloor, and to experience the meditative flow when you work with one pattern for the whole song

Pre-teach: ’Try this with me a few times before I start the song: walk-1-2-3-4 then down-up-up, down-up-up, down-up-up, down-up-up, again four slow walks, and then four waltz.
Try it one more time and see if you can add your arms and head gracefully, maybe turning as you waltz’.

First move: Bow or curtsy. Tell them to gracefully and slowly turn to the person next to them, and bow or curtsy. Have them travel to a new person, and bow or curtsy again, a new way every time. Can you do it with elegance, grace and confidence? Soft and gentle. Allow yourself to be elegant.

Second move: Waltz combo. Connect them to the slow walk for four, then into the waltz for four. Observe your participants and keep cueing on the beat, until they are successful. Help them out by describing with style words, and coach for exploring the space and lots of graceful turns as they waltz. This part of the song is very internal, so give them permission to dive into their own meditative space, and dance and express it in their own way.
Cue them to listen to the changing intensity of the music and dance their waltz accordingly. Observe them to see what they need. A great cue is coaching for arms and head in the TP – allowing the arms to be expressive both in the walk and waltz is a great way to get the whole body dancing, and to embrace the elegance and gracefulness of the song.
