Lift arms for 4 - dance hands down to the heart for 4 / Slide-tap
soft, gentle, loving, embracing, sweet, delicate, light
Adult Facilitator
Pre-Teach: No
Focus: Can be both
Purpose: To mobilize shoulders, thoracic and cervical spine
First move: Lift arms for 4 – dance hands down to the heart for 4. Very gently lift your arms up over your head. Now softly let your hands dance down to your heart.
Lift your arms again and open your chest and stretch your spine as you do so. Lightly and gently. Float and dance your hands down to your heart in your own beautiful way.
You can only get it right, remember that. Dance and express in a way that feels delicious to you.
Can you lift your arms a little differently every time?
See what it feels like to look up at your hands so your head is moving too.
Is it possible to add your whole body into the dance? Maybe your spine can move softly? Or your hips maybe?
How can you make your dance feel good?
Can your shoulders dance as you lift your arms?
What does it feel like to add a gentle smile?
Second move: Slide-tap. In your feet connect to a slide-tap, slide-tap. Softly gliding across the floor. You can travel backwards, forward, sideways, and now and then explore turning with it as well.
Can you add your arms to your dance?
Gentle. Soft. Delicate.
Add your breath and give yourself permission to make it feel good. Let the dance be like a big warm hug from you to you.
Can you add soft movements with your hands as well? Maybe try to look at your hands once in while, and notice how that makes your head and neck move as well.
You can’t get it wrong. Your way is the right way.
