Pre-Teach: Yes
Focus: Internal
Purpose: To strengthen body awareness through slow movement on the floor.
Pre-Teach: Show them the move before you start the music: In this song you are going to explore moving slowly on the floor. Watch me do the move once so you know what to do: you lie on your back and slowly stretch your body from toes to fingertips. Then slowly start to curl up on one side – slowly pull your knees towards your chest, then roll back into the stretch on your back. And then start curling up on the other side. Go really slow, and if you feel like staying longer in the stretch or on the side – do that. Make it your own flowy meditative dance.
First move: Stretch-curl-up-on-the-side. Listen to the song. Connect to your breath. When you’re ready, start to stretch your body slowly. From there, figure out in your own way how to curl up on on one side, slowly and gently. You can stay on your side for a bit or slowly start to roll onto your back again and stretch. When you’re ready curl up on the other side.
How can you move seamlessly from one move to the next?
Make it your own dance. Your own slow motion moving mediation.
Listen to the song and let it inspire your dance.
You can only get it right.
How soft and flowy can you move?
Can you let your head move as well?
Maybe you wanna hug your knees on the side.
You can close your eyes if you want.
And as you move, make it feel good. Like you are massaging your body with dance.
Transitions:
No transitions, same move for the whole song.
