Pre-Teach: Yes – down up and point
Focus: External
Purpose: To practice going down and up.
Pre-Teach: Down up and point. Make sure they do this with you. Say, During this song, there will be several times when we will stop, touch down to the floor or as low as you can, touch your body on the way up and then point to someone, or just point. Sassy with lots of confidence.
First Move: Step and kick. Start by just stepping and kicking. But make it super swanky, jazzy, with lots of confidence and personality. Show me what you got.
You can kick in all directions, and as high or low as you want. Now accent those kicks with your upper body. Give me some jazz hands and sass it up.
Go all directions. Also, it’s ok if they kick when you step, as long as they are kicking. don’t worry about it being on the perfect step kick.
Second Move: Down up and Point. OTS, stay where you are. Touch down as low as you can, touch your body on the way up and confidently point. (if it’s all ladies you can have them point to each other).
Lots of attitude, (each time they do it, invite them to do it a little differently.
Third Move: Shimmy. OTS. Just shimmy and shake your shoulders and give it some sassy energy.
