Pre-Teach: YES – talk a bit about the imaginary hula hoop
Focus: External
Purpose: Imagination, hip/spine movement, arm endurance
First move: Poses – Pretend you holding a hula hoop and strike some cool, creative poses with your hoop.
Second move: Driving – As the beat kicks in, take your hoop and pretend it’s a BIG steering wheel and you are driving in some crazy traffic, very safely of course!
The music will tell you to change directions, so follow it as you can! Go between and around each other, up hills and around corners!! Stay on the beat!
Third Move: Hula Hoop – Take time to get set here, be a little dramatic about it. Begin on “Let’s GO”, hooping to the music, change directions on bring it back around….then get creative.
Using your arm to hoop or neck or knees or even trying to travel while hooping.
Have so much fun!
