Coaching Notes:

Pre-Teach:No Focus: Internal Purpose: To use their imagination to tell a story.

This is a “concept” groove. You might choose to pre teach it or explain as the music starts. I like to talk about what a dandelion is and ask about if the kids make wishes and what the wishes are. The purpose is to have your participants go pick a dandelion (act it out fully) and then make a wish and blow it. Then the person becomes one of the seeds floating all around. Coach lots of different wind speeds to get your class to move gentle, fast, crazy, circles etc. Be creative as you offer suggestions- maybe you incorporate balance by having the seed get stuck in a spider web or caught in someone’s hair… think out of the box. Song is long so if your class is losing interest have them plant themselves and then grow up from the ground as a new flower. The possibilities are endless so stretch your own creativity as well!

First move: Have you ever seen a dandelion? Maybe you’ve picked one for your mom? Go pick a dandelion. But do it creatively. Where do you see dandelions in the space? Go pick it. Now make a wish and blow your dandelion. You know how the yellow petals become little cotton like seeds? Now you get to be one of those seeds with a wish. Float through the space. Sending your wish out into the world. Maybe the wind picks up and carries you a little faster. Or maybe you start to settle toward the ground. Maybe the wind swirls you around. You get caught in a spider web….balance and get yourself uncaught. Then float around again. Gently float to the ground. You get planted as a seed in the ground. The sun and rain let you grow into a new dandelion. So let me see you grow.

Transitions: Facilitate the class through levels, wind speeds and other things as you see fit. Encourage lots of creativity and balance as well!
