Pre-Teach: YES – talk about the body weight transfer on the tap out
Focus: External
Fitness Elements/Purpose: CR (creativity), RT (reaction time), ROM, Coordination, Muscle Strength, Power, Muscle Endurance, Cardiovascular
First move: walk 2, dance 2 (12123 or 123,123) – tune into the music on the intro. Get lower in your body and start to DANCE walk 2 dance 2. Really hit the accents with various body parts, telling a story as you move! Through the song, you can change up the move slightly just giving options for them to get more creative in a way that feels good to them. Make sure you are using lots of knees, arms, booty, etc.
Second move: tap out (front, side, turning) – DO pre-teach this style. This move is unique, kind of like you are chest bumping someone. Lean into the tap. Get your body weight over the front foot which will engage more core muscles as well. Play with front only, then adding side and then mixing them up and then turning it. There are a lot of challenging ways to express this move….keep reminding them to get low and move the body weight forward and back again!
