Coaching Notes:

Pre-Teach: No
Focus: Internal
Purpose: Focus on balance and increase stability of the core whilst encouraging creativity

First Move: Balancing on one foot while playing piano. Start on the spot playing the piano gently with fingers/wrists, playing all around the body, in the air and using levels and directions. Make it soft and delicate, allow the music to inspire how you play. Then, when you’re ready, gently pick up one foot, using core strength to stabilize and balance, to create beautiful, soft, balancing poses while continuing to play the piano. Change feet whenever you want. Challenge your position with your balance. Can you explore all the ways you can play the piano around your body, but see if you can get your whole body involved in your movement. You might move your foot placement. You might try playing piano low or on the ground. Keep exploring as many shapes as you can make. No rush. Take all the time you need to move and balance. Light. Gentle. Playing as you feel the music.

Second Move: End with a beautiful pose and an elegant bow.
