Purpose: To get them into a deep meditative focus.
First move: Tai Chi Movements. We’re going to slow way down. We’re going to get really focused and go internal. Start with your breath. This is inspired by Tai Chi type of movements. Start with your hands and notice that you can push gently away and pull toward you. Now start to notice how you shift your weight through your feet. Slowly push. Use the muscles. And concentrate. Now connect your breath to your movement. Once you feel comfortable with this you can start to take steps. As you do, start to roll through every bone of your foot. Start to explore the gentle pushing and pulling energy. Imagine a ball of energy in your hands as you do. Take your time. Really slow and concentrated. Explore challenging yourself by picking up a leg. Testing your balance. You don’t know until you try so just let yourself try different things. The key is slow and focused.
