Purpose: To warm up or cool down the body through soft and gentle movement
First Move: Slow-quick-quick. Start with your hands behind your back, relax your body. Put the rhythm in your feet – it goes slow-quick-quick.
Now start to look around with curiosity while you travel your SQQ. This song is dreamy, carefree and light. How can you let that inspire how you move? (If you see anyone struggle with the rhythm and they are just slowly walking. that is ok. This move is more about the curiosity and slowly and gently traveling around.)
Explore moving in different directions as you travel – sideways, backwards and turning.
How can you dance the SQQ with curiosity?
Notice what you see around you. And take it in as if you are seeing everything for the first time.
Let your head move and look around. Now let your upper body follow your head – let your body move and dance with it.
Remember, you can’t get it wrong.
It’s gentle, dreamy & light. Let your body relax into it.
How can you dance it with your entire body? Head to toe.
And what about your face? What does your face look like when you are curious? When you don’t have a care in the world?
Add you breath. Softness in your breath.
Can you add your shoulders to your dance?
How can your chest and spine move as you dance your SQQ?
Second Move: Snap. Snap with the music. A soft funky feel. And make it feel good in your body. I don’t know what it feels like in your body – so you make sure you dance it so it feels good for YOU.
Where can you put those snaps?
Explore the whole space around you with your snaps: below you, above you, in front of you, to the sides. Make it your own dance.
If you feel like it – sing a long.
Relax your body.
You can even travel it. Give yourself permission to express it your way.
It’s about making YOU feel so yummy!
Let your whole body dance it! With a soft funky feel, lightness and maybe a smile on your face.
Third Move: Breathe. Reach your arms up. You can sing it if you want – let your voice dance along!
