Coaching Notes:

Pre-Teach: no – only the waltz if needed
Focus: Internal
Purpose: To warm up or cool down the body

First move: slow walk. Start OTS, listen to the music and let your body gently sway, feeling your weight transfer from foot to foot, Now turn this into a gentle soft walk. Relaxed, gentle and graceful. Start exploring all your directions, even backwards. Move through the whole space. Infuse it with your breath. Let your arms gentle move with your walk. You can’t get this wrong, do it your way. Add your style, grace and confident. Keep your body soft. Listen to the music and dance your walk gently your way.

Second move: Waltz – Now as you listen to the music you will hear the waltz rhythm, put a gentle down up up in your feet. Down up up, down up up. Keep this movement small, soft and gentle in your feet. Once you feel comfortable with the rhythm allow your arms to dance with your body. You can’t get it wrong, you just have to be willing to lift your arms into your dance. Explore all the ways you can move your arms expressing the waltz, Allow your head to move with your arms. Give yourself permission to dance it your way and express. Can you explore your directions and even play with turning while you waltz. After they are comfortable with the waltz let them know that now they can slow walk when they want and waltz with they want. They can even sway if they want. The rest of the song is for you. This is your dance. Create your most expressive beautiful waltz dance. You can’t get this wrong, just let yourself dance. No one can do this for you. Let the music inspire how your move and express. Your way is the right way. Can waltz yourself to different parts of the room? Dance your waltz and follow the music to the end of the song.
