Coaching Notes:

Pre-Teach: The wrist-shake
Focus: External
Purpose: To warm up the body and create connections on the dance floor

Pre-Teach: When they sing ‘teke-teke’ in this song we are gonna play with a wrist shaking move. So try this with me, let your hands be loose, and now shake your wrists! Explore how you can shake them all around your body. And see how the rest of your body can dance as well – maybe your hips can move? Maybe you can play with your levels? It’s a joyful, carefree and playful song so use that in your dance.

First move: 12-123. Listen to the beat and connect to the 12-123 in your feet. Bend your knees a little, so your hips can move and let your body relax into it. It’s loose, carefree and relaxed. Start to travel the room. Can you move sideways? Backwards? Can you turn? Listen to the music and show me how you dance it in your own way. Loosen up your body and allow your dance to be chilled, relaxed, light and playful. Have you you tried adding your shoulders? How can your arms dance? Have you tried playing with the levels as you travel? You can see what it feels like to put a smile on your face. Embrace the joyful happy vibe of the song. This is your dance, you can’t get it wrong! Make your body move and feel good! Show me how you make your hips and spine dance with your 12-123. Can you make your whole body dance?

Second move: Wrist-shake. Now shake your wrists! All around your body. Just have fun with it – how can your body move with the wrist shake? Can your hips move with it? Maybe you want to dance it with the person next to you? Can you use levels in your dance? Allow yourself to be playful – you can’t get it wrong! Maybe you can turn as you shake it?

Third move: Clap & connect. Clap with the music! Let’s celebrate together! Figure out how to dance your way into the middle of the room. Dance your clap creatively around each other. Give someone a smile! Let’s have a party in our body!
