Purpose: To lubricate hips and warm up the body
First move: Walk. Start to put the rhythm in your feet 1-2-1-2, and as you walk see if you can stick your booty out a bit. Just let your hips move with it. It can help to bend the knees slightly. As you walk allow yourself to dance. That means moving your head, your arms, your shoulders, your booty – even your face! Let yourself move to the music, you can’t get it wrong, I promise. You can walk in different directions, you can turn as you walk – explore the room as you dance! And whenever you feel like it, you can add a 123 to your walk – just try it out, play with the rhythm. And whatever you are doing right now – make it feel good. Let me see that in your face – what does your face look like when it feels good?
Second move: Dance-4-walk-4. When they sing ‘Do you like this’, dance it for 4, then walk for 4. See if you can get your whole body dancing – your arms, shoulders, ribcage, hips and lower back – let it all move! How do you wanna dance to this song right now? Show me.
Put some personality into it and sing along if you feel like it. And with a little sass point to yourself as they sing ‘do you like this’. Just have fun with it, show me some attitude and personality. Can you travel backwards? Can you make your hips dance? Have you tried turning it yet? This is your dance floor – you can only get it right!
