Purpose: To create interactions on the dance floor and mobilize shoulders and upper spine.

First move: Slow arm/4 light runs. Show me a big dramatic arm movement – and then a light run for four. Again, slow dramatic arm
then run somewhere new in the room.
This song is Latin so give yourself permission to dance your arms with passion and drama.
Can you do that arm a little differently every time? Or maybe use both arms?
As you run, keep your feet soft and your steps light. Is there somewhere in the room you haven’t been yet?
Have you tried turning as you run? Or what about running sideways?
Figure out how to dance and express your arm movement in your own unique way.
Can you get your whole body involved? Maybe you can add your head and upper body?
It’s also possible to use your levels as you accent your arms.
How light can you make your running? Can you add your arms as you run?
Remember that this is YOUR dance – give yourself permission to express it YOUR way. You can’t get it wrong.

Second move: Slow arm accents. Stay on the spot and slowly accents your arms for 8. Do it again but try moving your arms
differently. Almost like you are posing in slow motion. Add passion and drama as you dance it. And use your whole body.
Can you explore your levels too?
Can you add your head?
How can you make your whole body dance it?
You can dance it with the person next to you – try it out as you accent your arms – and then face a new direction and do it again.
Differently every time. Add lots of breath.
Give yourself permission to take up some space and let your arm movements be big and expressive.
