Purpose: To warm up the body and create interactions on the dance floor
First move: OTS dance. Start by doing a little dance OTS, listen to the music, let your body wiggle to the music. Start to add your style and personality.
Second Move: Clap. Now give me a clap to the music, but make it funky. Put your clap in different places. Do it your way with your style.
Third move: Dance-4-walk-4. Now dance on the spot for 4 and walk to a new place. Can you get your butt dancing? What about your arms?
Can you dance with the person next to you? Walk to a new person and get your groove on with them!
Can you use your levels? Don’t hold back – show me how you get your funk on in your own personal style – you got this! Can you add a bit of disco feel too? Show me your inner John Travolta!
Fourth move: Walk. Put the beat in your feet. Let’s dance walk to the beat – 1,2,1,2. This song is disco and funky so let’s put that in our dance!
Start to walk backwards, sideways and add some turns to your walk too. Can you explore your levels? Can you add your arms? Maybe some disco movements?
Have your tried adding your head as well? How can you get your whole body dancing as you walk? Even your shoulders, chest and hips.
Make it feel good and give yourself permission to have a party in your body! Whenever you pass someone on the dance floor give them a smile or wink.
