Purpose: To get them to use their bodies creatively to spell the word DISCO

Pre-Teach: Start it by saying, “Everyone, we’re going to get creative. This is a disco song and we’re going to spell the word DISCO with our bodies. So make a D. Doesn’t matter if you do a big or little. Now show me an I, you can do big or little. Doesn’t matter. And an S. How can you make an S with your body? Then a C. You just figure it out. You can’t get it wrong. And then the O. We’re all going to look goofy and silly and that’s alright. Just figure it out.

First move: Disco walk. Put the beat in your feet. Start to travel. Start to get your disco flavor on. Your head is moving. All directions. Now we’re going to add disco arms. Some type of finger point. John Travolta. Rolls. Shuffles. Think of all the disco moves. Go somewhere new. Keep it going and keep the beat in your feet. Show me your creativity. Let’s see your style and personality. Yes! See if you can do those disco moves with someone else. Yes! Show me your best disco. Show me your best disco walk. Confident. Lots of attitude. Dance it till the end.

Second move: Spell DISCO. Get ready. Make the D. I. S. C. O. Dance it. Get ready to do it again. Here’s your D. I. S. C. O. Awesome job everybody. Here we go. Be as creative as you can. Let’s see your letters. Awesome!
