First move: Play the violin. Listen to the music. I want you to imagine your are the most talented and passionate violinist. Pick up your violin, and start playing. You can close your eyes if you want.
It doesn’t matter if you do not know how to play the violin – just explore and play with it it in your own way.
Add your breath. Allow your face to express it too. Soften your whole body and dance it. Can you use your levels?
You can let your head and upper body move with it.
Give yourself permission to express this dance in your own unique way – you can’t get it wrong. This is YOUR dance.
Dance it with passion and even a little drama.
Tune in and listen to the song – play the violin with softness and intensity as you hear it in the music.
Allow your whole body to get involved.
No one cares what you look like! Don’t censor yourself – let yourself dance it!

*Second time around invite them to play the violin holding it with the opposite hand.

Second move: 1-2-accent. New move: open your eyes and go: walk-walk-accent. You can accent an arm, shoulder, knee – anything you want. Walk-walk-accent.
Allow yourself to dance it with drama and passion!
Let your spine dance and move with it.
Travel and explore the space – you can go backwards, sideways and you can turn.
You can play with abstract and obscure movements as you accent to the music.
Have you tried turning as you hit the accent?
Can you use your whole body?
Explore different ways of hitting the accent every time.
Is your head moving?
Play with your levels.
You can dance big or small – dance it YOUR way.
Allow for passion and intensity in your dance.
