Coaching Notes:

Pre-Teach: No
Focus: Can be both
Purpose: To warm up the body
*** If you use it as a warm up, keep the focus internal. If you want to use it later in your playlist you can keep the focus external and invite interactions as they circle body parts in the TP.
First move: Walk 4-circle a body part. Listen to the song and the slow beat: walk 1,2,3,4 now stay on the spot and slowly circle your head. Walk again and now see if you can circle your head the other way. Start to explore the room as you walk and circle your head again but a bit differently. Start to dance as you circle your head. Walk for four and circle for four. You cannot get it wrong. If you dance it your way you’re getting it right. Listen to the music and start to let that ambiance influence your dance: it’s eerie, creepy, spooky, even somber. Next time see if you can add your shoulders to your circles. Slowly warming up your body. Have you tried walking backwards yet? Or sideways? And see if you can add a little creepiness to your walk – maybe tilt your head or play with different facial expressions. Allow your face to be part of the dance. Add your breath and dance it with your own style and personality. Can you add some circular movements with your hips? Maybe invite your spine into the dance? Now walk four and see if you can involve your entire body into your circling dance. You can make it big or small. How do you need to move to warm up your body right now? Can you explore your levels?
Second move: Circulation OTS. Stay on the spot and slowly circle through your body. Adding your whole body into the dance: Head, Shoulders, Spine, Ribs, Arms, Elbows, Hands, Fingers, Hips, Knees. Let the music guide you. Give yourself permission to play with a creepy, eerie expression. Spooky and weird. Can you play with your levels? How can you dance it in a creepy way? Maybe you can add your face to it? A creepy smile or starring eyes. And do it your way. You can’t get it wrong. Have fun with exploring a more theatrical side of dancing.
