Purpose & Focus: Upper body extension, Ankle mobility and feet, Rock n Roll
Movements in this song are connected to the lyrics and they repeat often so make sure you practice lots before teaching it.
Make sure your Groovers are sitting comfortably and securely on the edge of their chair with their feet planted.
Arms are going to make a big circle swoosh with the music and change the direction. Extend to explore range of motion. This happens x4.
At 0:12 Start the second move: heel toe. Ask them to rock n roll dance it! Have fun with this move and encourage them to extend their leg and place their foot somewhere different. Change feet when they want.
At 0:29 Shimmy
At 0:36 Back to the arm swoosh. Big arm circle extensions.
At 0:47 Back to the heel toe movement. Change feet when they want.
At 1:05 Shimmy
When he sings “Come together” Bring arms open, give yourself a hug, arms up on “Over me” then back into the big arm circle swoosh.
Back to the heel toe.
Remind them to Groove it out and add some rock n roll feel. Get them to play with their range of motion.
These 4 moves and patterns continue until the end of the song.
*Note at the end, when they repeat “Come together” you can repeat the arm action of bringing everyone together.
