Purpose: To get all of your participants to connect on a slow 8 count of the arms
Pre-teach: I want you to slowly lift your arms using all 8 counts to get them up. Take your time and really take them up slowly. Try it with me.
First move: Groove-Out Dance Walk. Put the beat in your feet and start to dance walk through the space. Your body is nice and relaxed. Get your arms dancing really chilled and relaxed around your body. I’m going to give you permission to play with the rhythm. Just make it cool and housey like. Let me see how you dance to this song. Your way is the right way. Explore all directions and every corner of the room. This is where I really want you to let your body dance to the music how you feel it. Your way is the right way. However your body wants to dance is perfect! Put your style and your personality into it. Can you travel through the space, moving around each other? Show me what it looks like when your arms are dancing with your body. Even your head is dancing with your body. Show me what confidence looks like on you. Your own housey style in it. Add 1,2,3 whenever you want. Give yourself permission to play with it. Just enjoy moving and dancing your whole body.
Second move: Lift Arms 8 – OTS Dance 8. Walk 8 slowly lifting your arms for a full 8 counts. Now dance it down for 8. Arms up slowly, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Now dance it. Go somewhere new. Dance it out. That’s it. Arms up SLOWLY! Take your time with those arms. Groove it down. How can you dance it? Take it in a new direction every time.
