Purpose: To connect to the style of the music and get the heart rate up.

First move: Charleston Kick. When he says “Charleston”, you’ll give me a little kick. Any direction. But add those jazzy, Charleston hands. If you want to get your heartrate up, kick a little higher. You don’t know what’s possible until you try. Try kicking all around you. Make it a little different each time. Kick it out. How high is up to you. But see what you can do. You never know. Keep the style in your hands. Here’s your chance to work your legs. You can’t get this wrong, just pick up those legs and kick in all directions. Keep it peppy and jazzy. Show me what you got.

Second move: Charleston Walk. Open your hands, palms out. Now show me a happy, peppy, upbeat walk. All directions. Have you gone backwards or sideways yet? Show me those jazz hands. Add that peppiness to your face. Get your whole body dancing your walk. Add your style and personality in it. Cheesy smile. How peppy can you be? Your way is the right way. Walk it out. Pick those feet up. Keep the style. Hands dancing too.
