Purpose: Exploring graceful ballet moves and partner work First move: Tip toe. Start them off in a prima ballerina pose! “Start Tip toeing as if you are wearing ballet point shoes!” Ask for elegant and soft arms. Suggest changing directions, sideways and backwards. Remind them they can’t get it wrong! We are simply pretending to dance like a ballet dancer! The second time this move comes, you can even ask them to show you leaps and pirouettes!

Second move: Double kick or circle depending on age.

Ages 7 and up: Find a partner. Stand side by side and put one arm around your partners shoulders. Get ready to kick! Knee and kick Knee and kick!” Tell them they can kick as high as they want to! Ages 4-6: Now let us make a huge circle! Hold hands! And now we tip toe towards the middle! Tip toe back out! Let’s go around the circle! Change directions!”
